During Thanksgiving, my family an I always eat the same foods, year after year. We always have a turkey, mashed potatoes(not pre-packaged), my Dad's favorite gravy, potato rolls, and stuffing. We never stray from these foods, year after year.
It is my Dad's gravy though, that makes us unique. He prepares the gravy from scratch, adding in his own custom mix. It is quite good, and I don't even prefer to have gravy on my mashed potatoes. He probably started making that gravy when I was a very young child. It has been around ever since I can remember. My family will continue to see this gravy made for years to come.
Another tradition during Thanksgiving that my family sees a lot is my youngest brother eating all the potato rolls. Since he is still pretty young, he can be quite picky, and we find the rolls going so fast its hard to get more than one. This tradition will probably cease to exist in the next few years, as he will become less picky.
As far as our food traditions in general, we usually find ourselves eating pasta, since that is a favorite for everyone in the family. We use to eat Salmon a lot, and had a whole fridge full actually. When my Dad and I went fishing up in Alaska, we brought our fish back, and every two weeks we would have salmon for dinner. Unfortunantly though, we haven't been to Alaska in a while, so we haven't had salmon in a while.
